Frigidaire Stops Mid-Cycle FTF2140FS0

[SIZE=2]Hey all,

I’ve got this Frigidaire washer I’ve had for about 5.5 years and yesterday it stopped mid-cycle during the perm.press setting. The water filled up, it spun for a little while, the soap and fabric softener did not dispense. It behaved as if it had just restarted. I ran it again, but afraid that it would fill too far (not sure what the sensors are like), I shifted the cycle to drain/spin and emptied it.

For additional notes: It clicks shut and the door is firmly shut until I push "cancel" and hold that button down. The drain/spin cycle seems to run the drain continuously even while spinning.

In the last week, I have noticed that while the washer is plugged in and not in active use, it will beep at me, and the lights for the cycle stages (door lock, wash, rinse, spin) will blink intermittently.

I’m not so worried that something is fried, but am trying to determine what it is. There are no problems getting the washer to fill or drain, so I think I can rule out a pump. I have heard some Frigidaires have issues with the door latch/switch, but it seems to click fine and know when it is shut. Am I relegated to replacing the control board?

If it is the board - any quick links on how to access it? I think I can find the part online for ~ $160.

Any thoughts are welcome.

Thanks!

Hello,

These blinking lights show an error code.

Recall an error code as instructed in the attached tech sheet and post the results.

Here are the breakdown diagrams and http://www.appliancepartspros.com/parts-for-frigidaire-ftf2140fs0.html

Gene.

Thanks! I am out of town but will check this out this weekend and try to troubleshoot.

Gene,

The error code is 41, which indicates the control board thinking the door switch is open. I plan to try Test #7 tonight. I think I am reading the second part of the test to mean if the pins have continuity, then the board needs to be replaced. All the pins on plug J2 should be open and not connected to each other. Will post more after I do this test, so I know which part to buy.

And when the troubleshooting guide refers to the control board, there’s the control board and then the "speed control board". I’m assuming the control board I’m interested in testing off of and possible replacing is the one on the top, behind the knobs and displays.
