Hi All - the last 2 weeks I’ve had an issue with my front load washer. When I wash white towels, or heavier items, they are left with black streaks/splotches and little black dots where the holes are in the drum. The marks are almost impossible to clean off afterwards.
I tried cleaning the washer with the tablets, and vinegar, cleaning out the soap dispensers, and wiping the rubber ring. If you lift up the lip of the rubber ring, the black stuff seems to be coming from where the ring meats the drum.
Has anyone had a similar issue, or knows what this could be? I read maybe bearings? - but the washer isn’t really making a grinding sound.
I considered just replacing the washer, but there are absolutely no washers that will fit with my stacked dryer, and if I replace the whole set, no gas dryers that will fit the space, so I’d need a ventless or electric. So I’m hoping the washer may be fixable.
