Gas Dryer groaning

I have a Maytag SDG3606AWW dryer. When I press the start button, it grinds and starts up. It gets the clothes dry, but gets increasingly louder every time I use it. Do I need to replace the belt, or maybe a roller?

If it rumbles throughout the drying cycle, it’s likely to be a support roller. (The noise will be a low-pitched rumble, corresponding with the 50 RPM of the tumber.) If you replace one roller, it is recommended that you replace the other as well.

If you hear a faster-paced "growling" noise on start-up, that comes and goes, you may have a blower fan that is loose on the motor shaft. This will gradually get worse. At first, there may be enough friction between the motor shaft and the blower fan to allow the fan to "catch up" with the motor speed (kind of like a slipping clutch), but eventually it will just slip. An obvious symptom of this problem will be a noticible longer drying time.
