Gas Maytag Drying cabinet act up(stops) after 6-8 minutes

Gas Drying Cabinet MCG8000AWW

Will run just fine for on Air Dry cycle.

When you run Timed Dry it runs just fine for about 6-8 minutes. Then it flashes the LED lights while a blank screen(time) for a few seconds. Then the screen has PF code in it meaning power falure and LED’s stop flasing.

I reset it to factory settings and tried again and this time after 8 minutes the LED flashed and the screen (time) was just blank. I could not get it to stop flashinfg the LED no matter what I pushed. I even unplugged it for 30 seconds and plugged it back in and it would not stop flashing the LED’s. I tried unplugging again for a couple of minute then plugged back in and the LED would just flash with a blank time. So I unplugged it again for 30 minutes and plugged it back in and NOW it it starts up fine again.

I can’t understand why it would run fine on Air Dry cycle and not on Timed Dry. Also it takes about 6-8 minutes on Timed Dry Cycle before it acts up.

Is it the Relay Board or the Logic Control Board or a short in a sensor?

I am thinking it is in the Rrelay board.

I had the same issue with my MCG8000AWW drying center. It would run for awhile then all the LEDs would blink. Finally I would get a PF code. I replaced the Relay Board and it fixed it. Runs great again.

Thanks for your experience. I have not yet fixed the dryer yet as was not sure which part it was for sure. I was leaning towards the relay board. Since you experienced the same issue and the relay board fixed it I will try that.

I got the relay board for around $130.00. The drum was a lttle tricky to put back in but it was worth it. My wife uses the top part all the time. She didn’t want to shop for another one.
