Turn to power off and push knob in – all LED lights go off. Approximately 10 seconds later all LED lights flash twice and the regular LED light stays on. Then with the regular light on, all LED’s will flash twice very 20 seconds.
When I start the unit it will run approximately 5 to 10 seconds and shuts down with regular LED on — and start the flashing twice of all LED lights every 10 seconds approximately. I checked the following: Voltage is 250V. Motor spins freely. No lint build up around the motor. Blower impeller is clean of lint.
It seems to me to be one of two things, either the encoder or the control board.
This model has a built in diagnostic and uses the lights to display an error code. Unfortunatley Maytag has decided they will not longer provide access to the technical manuals so I cannot link you to one.
Look inside the console for tech notes, and if they are not there then contact Maytag and see if they can provide them to you. If all else fails try replacing the parts you think are suspect. If you buy from this site and the part does not fix the problem you can return it, the the returns policy for details and conditions.
I did have the diagnostic info but as many times as I tried it would not respond, so I felt that it is either the switch that send the message to the circut board or the circut board its self.If I have to buy both or, I possibly a censor causing all these problems. Having to purchase $150 to see if I can make this work, knowing this may or may not work, I have hadit for solid state circutry, Very frustrating.
I am with you on the feelings about microprocessors and circuit boards. You will be doing just what a tech would do if he or she came to your house, changing out parts to see what will make it work.
