I have an older model Kenmore gas range. When turned on, the bake ignoiter lights up fine but there doesn’t seem to be any gas coming into the burner (the range top works fine so I know the unit is getting LP gas). Is this a problem with the gas safety valve?

The problem is your ignitor is not strong enough to open the gas valve. Replace the ignitor, and you will be set. Tom http://www.applianceeducator.com/parts.htm
