Gas pulsating in oven. Broiler works fine.

I can hear the gas pulsating when the oven is on. The igniter glows very deep red and I have even held a lighter to the burner to eliminate the possibility of a weak glow. The broiler and all burners work fine even if I turn everything on at once. I just replaced the oven valve, yet the problem remains the same. Sometimes the oven will not ignite at all and I can smell gas. Is the flow so low that the gas doesn’t make its way down the burner? Maybe the oven sensor defective and telling the controller that the oven is hot and to reduce gas? Maybe a defective control board? Any help will be appreciated.

You needed to replace the oven ignitor instead of the valve.
Sometimes when they are on the verge of failing completely you can
get the sort of thing you describe.

Sure enough! I switched the ignitor from the broiler and it worked.
Thanks Glenn!

No problem.
That other valve was getting worn anyway right?

That’s right, it was due to go out any time and that $125.00 was just sitting in a checking account that didn’t even earn interest.
