My range which has been plugged in to the same plug for over ten years has malfunctioned. I started the broiler and shortly afterward all the power to the range stopped. At the circuit breakers I was unable to switch and keep the breaker for that circuit back in the on position. I tested by isolating the range and plugging it in to another outlet. That circuit blew as well. I can ignite the gas and use the burners only. I still want to use the electrical components of the range I.e. clock, timer, light and igniters.
Sounds like there is a short somewhere in the range. Probably a loose igniter wire.
