GE Dishwasher will not stop running when the door is opened......

My GE dishwasher will not stop running when the door is opened…it does not matter if it is in a wash cycle, rinse or just draining. Others models I have had always stopped completely as soon as the door was unlatched. Is this a safety issue with the dishwasher continuing to run? Thank you in advance for your help finding out what the problem is.

Your door safety switch is faulty.

You have two microswitches activated by the door latch, rather rare both would short at the same time, but just check. You will have to remove the inner plastic panel to get to them.
