My drainage solenoid melted on my GE dishwasher: model # GSD2000G00WW. I am looking at purchasing the parts AP3994907 and AP2038323. I have the rest of the assembly. Since I am inexperienced in the art of fixing dishwashers, am I missing anything?
Usually you do not need the AP2038323 (armature).
If you can get it out you can just scrape off any melted plastic.
That is the good news, the bad news is that you may need a new timer.
The way the drain solenoid works is that the timer activates it for a couple seconds and then the water pressure keeps it in the drain position till the unit is empty.
If the timer contacts stick it gets activated for too long and that is what causes it to overheat and melt.
Do you know the item number for the timer?
Here are your parts

The timer is Item 904 in Section 1.
I would check that the solenoid is being powered for too long before ordering anything.
