GE Freezer is Fine, Fridge is Warm

Hi All,

I realize this topic is covered in a sticky thread and several others but I have searched all of these (to the best of my ability) and google to come up with no solution to my problem.

I have a GE Top-Freezer Fridge its 9 years old. The problem is the typical scenario I went to grab something out of the fridge one day and it was warm but the freezer was still ice cold.(the knobs are set to cold setting) It has been over a week and I have troubleshooted several things and still drawing a blank. The following is a list of what I have done and the results;

  • Pulled the back off in the freezer.:
    • Evaporator fan is running, no ice build up blocking airway to fridge, minor frost on bottom coils of evaporator
  • Checked to see if defrost function works
    • Manually set fridge into defrost and fridge shut off heater came on worked perfect
  • Removed control panel with temperature settings and damper
    • No blockage still seems to me very little cold air flow

The bottom line is not enough cold air is getting to my fridge but there is nothing blocking this and the fan is running. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I hope I am not overlooking something very minor.

Thanks everyone,
Alex
