GE freezer light

The bottom freezer light went out in my GE Refrigerator. I took the light out and it didn’t appear to look bad, put it in a lamp and it came on. My next attempt was to take the switch out and test it with a meter. The switch tests good. Any suggestions as to where I go from here.

Looks like a standard 40 watt appliance bulb.
Perhaps the center connector in the receptacle is not contacting the bulb.
Unplug the unit and then bend the copper center connector up some.
Be careful you do not want to break it.

Then plug the unit in and give it a try.

That’s what it was denman, I just hadn’t gotten to that yet. Sometimes you just look so far past the easiest things first. Thanks

You are welcome.

And thanks for getting back to us. Now when others search for a similar problem they will see what actually worked instead of just suggestions about what could be the cause.
