ge fridge cover access assembly?

I took the cover access assembly panel "thingy" off the back of my fridge because it was warped and bubbled. it was almost like paper. anyway, i proceeded to pull the insulation out from around the motor and fan and now I can’t find a replacement assembly panel, as GE has discontinued it and I don’t have any information about the insulation stuff either. I threw it all out… can anybody tell me what I should do? the fridge works fine, but was very dirty "under there", hence the clean out:(

It is very important to have the cover (#616 on the unit break down diagram) in place to maintain a proper air flow inside the compressor compartment.

You can make a cover from a cardboard and just tape it to the body.

The purpose of the insulation is to decrease the noise and it’s not affecting anything.

Hi Julie,

This model number does not come up anywhere because it’s very old. Sounds like the pump gone bad but I can not tell you more specific without proper technical documentation. Also most parts for such old model are no longer available. Probably it’s time for a new one.

The seal leaked and motor went bad. Is there a part available #s62nxfbr-54. Also has a #e22922. The interior is stainless & I would like to fix this one if I can find the part. Thanks!
