The machine will not go into service mode. I have gone through all the proper steps to enter the mode. The screen goes blank and the pump immediately runs for approximately 5 minutes. During this time the power button has no effect when pushed. The door does not latch. I replaced the control board, put in the correct model program. The washer operated correctly, door latched properly for 2 cycles and then the third time it started doing the same as before I replaced the control board. Model# WCVH6400J1WW. Thanks Bill
See if you can contact GE, it may be that you have to do some programming when installing a new board and they may be able to get you that information.
GE will not release tech info to anyone other than GE service techs (of which obviously I am not one of) but as an owner you may be able to get the info.
If that does not fix things then it may be that you received a defective board, or that you have a short or something that is creating a power surge and burning out the board. Ouch, hope that is not the case.
