Not sure what age this washer is. Just bought it used a few days ago with a "small leak." The door does not stay latched and the washer leaks like crazy. Where do I start to diagnose this?

Update–the pump cleaning mentioned in another post seemed to work well. The door locked and unlocked a couple of times, then started filling. I think it was washing, the door popped open and dumped about 12 gallons of water. Any ideas?
