Hello, I am hoping to ask for some advice on my GE Profile Artica side-by-side fridge.
A few weeks ago, the ice dispenser stopped working. When I push the handle, there is no sound of the auger running. I removed the panel and disconnected the unit that lifts the cover to allow the ice to come down the chute. I figured it was a bad part. I ordered a new lid-lifter device and when it arrived, I connected it to the panel - same problem. When connected, the ice auger would stop churning. When I disconnect the from the circuit panel, the ice auger works and ice goes down the chute - I have to stick my fingers up the hole to manually lift the lid for the ice to come down. I have left it like that for a couple of weeks.
A few days ago, the water dispenser stopped working. And I notice that before it stopped dispensing water, the water was really warm - not chilled water. And I have not been hearing the fridge wake up periodically to suck in water as it used to do. Now, the water dispenser intermittently stops working. When it does not dispense water, I just open the fridge door and it starts dispensing water. Always works - no water coming from the dispenser, I open the fridge door, and water comes out.
Has anyone seen this problem before? Does anyone have any suggestions? I am wondering if the circuit board is completely bad. This fridge is 4 years old.
Thanks very much in advance for any advice or tips.
