I have a GE quietpower II that seems to have a faulty control panel. About 5 weeks ago we noticed that the dishwasher wouldn’t register that the door was shut which would then allow us to begin a cycle (machine will usually beep to show that the door was shut fully). Now I am having trouble even getting power to the control panel. I have checked my power source, which is still good. When I unplugged and then re-plug in the dishwasher into a power source I can get the machine to show lights on the control panel. When I open or close the door, the lights (and I’m assuming all other power) cut out. If anyone could give me some advice on what’s wrong, I’d appreciate it. I’m hoping it’s something minor. I really don’t want to buy a whole new dishwasher. This one works fine when it works.
The first thing I would do is check the door switches and make sure they are properly engaged when the door is closed.
