Ge range with F-2 code

We got the code F-2 last night and the broiler is stuck on. We unplugged the oven and waited about 20 min. Plugged it back in and the broiler came back on again (although the panel was just on the clock). Could this also be a temp sensor? or is there more wrong here. Thank you in advance for your help.

Patrick,

At this point, the sensor is working, the F2 code is telling the control that there is a major problem with the heat in the oven.

With the broil element on, in a time of day mode, I would have to suspect a shorted relay on the control board/clock, or a wire to the element has "shorted to the chassis ground, and stays on all the time, causing an overheat problem.
