The ice in the ice maker melts and drips into the freezer compartment where it freezes. Also, the temperatures vary wildly in both the freezer and refridgerato compartments. My fridge is not that old. Is this a mother board problem, a fan problem or what? What parts should I check, and how?

I have the same issue. There is no ice build up, all fnas are running. In fact the freezer will get cold again but for some reason it gets warm enough for long enough that the ice melts and then freezes again on the items in the freezer. Strange. I think the defrost cycle is staying on for too long.

I ended calling a repair man. He jumped some wires on the circuit board and confirmed the fans were running. Then he replaced the board.

I ended up replacing the motherboard. It’s been about 2 months now and seems to be working. I bought it from appliancepartspros.com. Very good to deal with.
WR49X10152 was the replacement part for the one listed on the back of the fridge.
