I purchase a used ge Range and the front burner will light but small flame on hi and when turned down goes out. There is a loud hissing sound from the burner. Thanks for any help. Look at the parts for burner but do not know what to buy.

If you’re getting a flame, that’s good. Clean the burner ports with a medium-soft bristled brush, making sure not to disturb the spark electrode. If you’ll pull the knob off, you can adjust the flame by turning a set screw in the center of theknob’s shaft. You will need a very small-tipped screwdriver, like a jeweler’s screwdriver. Turn it one way or the other, to increase, or decrease the flame, until you get about a quarter-inch flame on low.
