Does the thermistor need to be in contact with the tube as shown in the picture below? The metal clip fell off when I was trying to install a new thermistor and instead of removing the entire assembly, I just left the thermistor sitting on top of the tube.
If it does need to be in contact with that tube, can I use zip ties? Thanks
