correction model no wwa5669mal -I am getting water on flood under washer could it be a hole in the tub

The water pump will often leak and also there is a rubber boot at the bottom of the tub that will sometimes leak. there was a hole at the top of the tub about a inch wide and when it spin out the water came out on the floor so i took some clear all purpose silicone sealant and duck tape i put a piece of tape on the outside of the tub over the hole i then put the silicone on the inside of the tub over hole and spade it over the hole and let dry and it work
