I have multiple problems but am not sure if they are connected or not.
#1 Water pours out of the flood hose when it is running an X-Large load. Is this hose supposed to be connected to something? If not what is it for and why is this happening?
#2 There is a small leak dripping from the very bottom of the transmission during the spin cycle.
#3 The belt is making an awful squeaking noise during the spin cycle (I am assuming it is due to the leak from the transmission getting the belt wet.)
Any advice?
The flood hose is designed to flood, to take an overflow and spill it away from your transmission and motor. This will happen if the water level pressure switch is bad, or if the tube running to it is partially clogged.
The more troublesome issue is the leak that is allowing water to drip onto the transmission. Frequently this means water getting into the transmission and then there are major problems.
My advice is to replace the machine, because you can get a new basic top loader for only slightly more than what it would cost to fix this.
Sorry, wish I had better news.
