GE Washer Issues

#1) My washer is leaking out a white plastic tube coming from the top of
the cylinder draining into the bottom of the washer. Located in the back
left hand corner. Should this tube be connected somewhere else? This
only happens when set on x-large load size.

#2) The cylinder is draining but is not spinning and there is a small
amount of water remaining in the bottom.

Is there something causing both issues or do I have multiple repairs on
my hands? How do trouble shoot the root of my problems?

Please Advise!! Wife not happy!!

Does it leak during the wash cycle?

Does it try to spin while it’s agitating?

If yes, the transmission has gone bad.

I just ran it thru a full cycle and it did not leak this time at all. The belt spins but the agitator does not. It also filled at the beginning and the drained but never refilled. Is this all related to the trans or is it something else?

Remove the belt and check how freely the transmission pulley is moving in both directions. Check the belt too.
