washer wont agitate. everything else seems to work, including spin cycle. when in agitate mode you can hear a low humming. if i turn the motor belt by hand, one way, basket turns ,the other agitator turns. the agitator coupling seems good. thanks krf

I have the same problem … spin cycle works, water drains , but agitator will not rotate … spins freely clockwise … but not counter clockwise.
Have you taken the agitator off to see if the shaft, goes back and forth in the agitation cycle? Tom
yes … the motor does not even move. it just hums in the agitate mode and gets hot. the motor only kicks in when the spin cycle starts. something wont let the motor reverse. thanks kenny
Then the transmission is locked up. Buy a new washer. Tom
if the tranny is locked up why can i turn the motor belt one way the basket moves and when i turn the belt the other way the agitator moves? Kenny

When it goes into agitation, does the motor continuw to run, or does it cut off. Also try taking the belt off, and when it goes to agitate, does the motor run? Tom

well i took the belt off and motor still acts the same. in agitate mode it just hums. if i spin the pully, then the motor takes off. of course with belt on i cant do that. so far i ve replaced the capacitor twice, the motor and i still have the same problem. (sent the new motor back). i just dont understand how the motor can kick in fine on spin, but dont have the stuff to start in the agitate mode. whats stopping it? the trany seems stiff to spin by hand.either way… but what do i know? the motor has no problem moving it on spin. Anybody got any ideas? thanks KRF
i took the belt off and got same results. motor just humms in agitate mode. i can spin the pully and the motor takes off in agitate mode. just wont on its on. of course with belt on i cant do this. ive tried 2 capacitors and a new motor. i can turn the trany with belt off any direction with no problem. its stiff to turn, but what do i know. the mortor has now problem starting in spin cycle. looked behind the contol panel and and no signs of anything shorted out. whats left but timer? any suggestions? how often should cold air come threw vents in my fridge??
it is cool in there but not cold it seems as if the air is not blowing
threw the vents often enough.I check it and i never feel air coming out the vent when the compressor kicks on .the freezer does fine, nice and cold

The freezer is worse than the refrigerator by the temperature. Can you see a frost build up on the rear panel in the freezer?

Remove the rear panel in the freezer and check how the evaporator is covered with snow. If it’s not a light snow and it is blocked then there is a problem with the defrost system. Post the results and we will proceed with the troubleshooting.
