Greasy Tub / Agitator Loud During Spin Cycle

Over the last two weeks, I have noticed my washing machine spin cycle get extremely loud, and I noticed that there was grease on some of my clothes. I had one cycle of whites ruined. :frowning: I took off the agitator which is where the grease was coming from underneath, and there was grease all over. I removed the rusty bolt and replaced it with a new one, and I cleaned everything out. The machine is still loud, but the last spin did not spit out any grease.

Is the machine worth repairing, or is it time to replace. I am somewhat handy with things around the house.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi.

The grease was most likely coming from the transmission shaft seal. It doesn’t look like it is available by itself only with the transmission. The noise could be a bad tub bearing or the transmission again.
