Hello, My dryer is not working. First it would shock me for a few months, now I cant get it to come on. I was told by a friend it sounds like the door switch.

Something was shorting to ground giving you the shock.
I would unplug the dryer and check the back of it were the power cord is connected to the dryer first.
what do you mean something was shorting to ground ?

Im new to this and just dont have the money to pay a repair guy. thanks for understanding.
A electrical wire was touching the metal cabinet or some other metal part of the dryer that it should not be.
Unplug the dryer. Pull it away from the wall. Follow the power cord to were it connects into the back of the dryer. Remove the cover for the power cord and take a look for burnt wires or loose connections.
Ok so I took the cover off where the power cord is on the back of my dryer, and notice that area is burned.
I see this a lot. I often have to replace the connection block that the power cord connects to and the power cord itself.
Yes that is the problem. How do I replace this? I have the power cord removed but my issue is the connection block, it burn and I dont know how to take the block off the dryer.
Here is the diagram for your dryer. There are two screws that hold the block in place.

1 of the small wires coming from inside the dryer that connects to the block is burn a lil bit also. what to do about this issue? again thank you.
If the wire is long enough I would cut the end off and crimp a new end on it.
