My washer is leaking. I took off the front and found the leak.
I got some pictures and would like to know if it is something that can be repaired reasonably or it is smarter to just get a new one.
For what its worth, the seal/washer (whatever the piece with the yellow arrow) is loose, is this normal or part of the problem?
Any advice is appreciated.
This is a repair you can do yourself. I cannot link you to the part because you did not post a model number (call APP on Monday with the model number and they can get you the parts).
I can link you to a repair manual that will take you through the process. Just take your time and you should be fine.

Thanks for the manual, I looked through it. Can you tell me what part I need (I included the model #) and how I go about replacing it. Do I just need a seal?
The model # is : GLWS1233AS1
I cannot get your model number to come up, but if you will check it you can use it to get to exploded diagrams of your machine on this site. Just type the model number into the get parts box under model number on the first page and you should be able to find a diagram that gives you what you need.
You can also call APP with the model number and they will be able to help you. (Those of us who respond on this site are volunteers and not associated with APP parts operations, so our help with parts is limited).
I mis-typed the model # in my post above. The correct # is GLWS1233AS1. I fixed it above.
Can you tell me the part name or # I need? When I contacted APP they couldnt help without knowing the name or #.
Thanks again, I really appreciate it.
All you should need are the top and bottom parts of the tub seal, see page 75 on the manual. However, when I look at the parts diagrams for APP (we who respond on this site are volunteers and not associated with the parts operations of APP) I do not see the tub seal listed. I would call them and if they do not have it, try another reputable parts supply company.
I’ve got the basket out, not sure where to go next.
If you will follow the instructions in the manual you will be fine.
Thanks for your help. It took me quite a while but I got the leak stopped. Problem now is it is making loud noises while spinning. Much louder than ever before. It looks like the spin basket isnt spinning properly (in a perfect circle). Any suggestions as to what I may have done to make it run so loud?
I can only speculate that something did not go on right, but you already know that.
What I do in situations like this is take it apart again, clean everything, put it back together and usually the problem is fixed without ever knowing what was wrong in the first place.
