I’ve been reading the posts from Gene and hope that the fuseable link is that simple with my machine too. Will have to locate it tomorrow. Tonight, Sunday, my wife went to do a small load of laundry. The machine was fine until it came time to final spin when it did nothing but made its normal noises without moving the tub. I purchased the machine 2nd hand a month ago and has been working fine. Its a new machine as they only used it a few times but the former owner wanted a front not a top load machine.
I located the green LED light on the top right of the board and it blinks 6 times.
Please let me know.
THANKS in advance for any help you can assist me with.
If the LED light is blinking then the fuse is probably good. Unfortunately I do not have access to the manual at this time and not able to look up the error code.
Look for the mini-manual inside the washer and read what means this error code. Post the results and I’ll help you with the right part number.
Check for a foreign objects between the inner and the outer tubs. If there is nothing wrong then the problem most likely is a bad motor. I would recommend to replace the belt at the same time. To replace the drive belt it may be helpful to use the belt install tool.
Sorry it took a few days to get back to you but I wanted to give you a full report. Ok, I went into the washer after your last reply to see if the rotor was not allowing the tub to spin. I was able to move it by hand without any issues. I refered back to the mini manual which said if the tub spins free, replace the motor. Now I know this is a disposable society but I thought a washer was supposed to last longer than just under 20 loads. I called the retailer I purchased it from and they told me to call 1-800 GE-CARES. It has a 12 month parts and labor warranty. A quick call to GE and I have a free repair service coming on Monday.
Before I purchased this NEW GE washer on New Years eve, I purchased a newer model Kenmore washer. It was in somebodies yard and took it off their hands for $25. It leaked so I purchased the GE that recently stopped. No luck here with washers or so I thought. Well I decided to take apart the Kenmore to figure out the leak. After about 2 hours of freezing my butt off outside here in Roanoke Va area, I learned what the major leak was… the input mixer had a leak. You know where the hot and cold water enter the machine and mix before it exits to the tub from the single hose. Well that had a leak in it. It looked a lil corroded so I guess it has been that way for a while.
Thanks so much for your help. I couldn’t have done what I did without you.
We recently used the self cleaning mode and since the oven comtroller says it is working but neither element heats up. does this oven have a thermal fuse, if so where is it located, if not what could be the problem?
