Hot Kenmore Side by Side

All of the food in this unit went bad because it stopped cooling and freezing. I removed the cover inside the freezer compartment where a small fan is located and it is not running. Is this my problem as the regular food side does not cool either?

Check to see if the condenser fan at the back underneath the fridge is running.
Is the compressor motor near that fan running.
Are the condenser coils near the compressor warm or room temp.

Below the evaporator fan in the freezer is the evaporator coils. Remove the back cover in the freezer to observe the frost pattern. stopped up? clear? ice in one spot . frost everywhere.

Thank you for your reply. The condenser fan is running as is the compressor itself. The frost on the evaporator coils appear to be in a complete coverage pattern if that helps. I just finished checking the evaporator fan and it did not run with a direct feed so I replaced it with one that I know runs but still it will not kick in. As of this posting I have the unit unplugged so I cannot say at this time if the condenser coils are warm or room temp. Could that prevent the cooling and freezing fans from starting? I also replaced the (thermostat?) or whatever it is that clips onto the evaporator coil line just below the fan itself.
