Hello. My Kenmore side by side runs all the time. The freezer section does not keep items frozen, just very cool. The ice maker does not work. The fridge section is cool. The freezer fan runs and so does the compressor fan. The condenser coil is free of dust. The evaporator coil has a light covering of frost from bottom to top (100%). The door seal is not leaking. The thermostat is set at its coolest setting. I had a previous thread pertaining to this refrigerator where some work was done on it because it stopped freezing for approximately two days and strangely enough, it began to freeze again. When the evaporator coil cover was removed the coil was covered with just 50% of frost. The freon was serviced and the fridge ran but absolutely no cooling air was coming in. I read a few threads on this forum and I changed the start capacitor as the original one was completely dead. The fridge ran afterwards but at best the freezer will only get very cool and the fridge section a tad warmer than the freezer side as explained at the beginning of this thread. Considering the present symptom, do I need a thermostat or some other component that’s causing the freezer to not freeze? I guess the reason why the compressor is running constantly its because it’s trying to lower the temperature as requested by the thermostat but, for whatever reason, it’s not or can’t do it. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
