hotpoint main control board issue

So the unit does not dispense ice or water, the green light goes dim when I press the dispense arm, and brightens when I release it. I have isolated the noise to the control board in back, I did check the relay on the side of compressor, was ok. I ordered the control board but can I still use fridge till part arrives? I don’t want to ruin anything else. Thanks
