Hotpoint nightmare

Good evening, hopefully someone can help me. I bought a house with an older model Hotpoint refrigerator in is. I see now why they left it behind. It has worked fine for the past 8 months now problems. It was making a really loud noise, kinda like a plane crashing, and then it would quit. It did this a couple times in the evening so then I went and shut the temperature dial to off. This solved the problem but now my freezer works fine and the fridge isn’t cooling at all. The compressor is working and the condenser fan is working as well. Can someone help me with this please!? Thanks!

Looks like you closed the damper control and shut off the cold air from the freezer into the fresh food.

I’m not able to provide more accurate advise due to the model number you posted is incorrect.

Verify and repost it, please.

I’m not able to tell you how it looks in your fridge because there are thousands different models with different controls layout.

You have to look for the model number on the name plate which is probably on the bottom of the door frame. The sticker in the door does not have the right information.

The model number and the serial number should be on the same name plate.

Most of the Hotpoint model numbers in refrigeration started with "H".

Ok, I unplugged my hotpoint refridgerator for the weekend and then plugged it in on Sunday. It works fine! This leads me to believe that it was frozen up inside and not allowing the cold air to move from the freezer to the fridge. Does this sound like a defrost timer problem? If so, it is very easy to change and I had it off and contemplated changing it but didn’t want to spend extra on a fridge that might not be worth fixing. Now I believe it is. Please help.

Magetron needs to be replaced, how do I get to it?

Hello… I have A Kenmore Series 90 Heavy Duty washer that won’t agitate. I watch the timer move, but in the wash cycle it doesn’t work. It will work in the spin cycle, and it will drain the water… Just no agitation. Please help…

Does the motor run on agitation?

Gene.

I can’t tell… It is quiet. The timer runs, and I see it going through the cycles. It gets to spin and it drains the water and spins. It just won’t agitate. It is crazy. Thanks…

Remove the washer cabinet and check the wire harness to the motor and the motor itself. Inside the control panel you should find the tech sheet with the wiring diagram.

I checked the diagram and all wiring seems to match. I put it back together and then it still does the same thing. Do you think a switch somewhere may be bad??

this is the exact issue i am having with my machine kenmore 90 series 110.26901691…my coupling is fine and so are my dogs please tell me what u did to resolve this issue…and i noticed a small amount of oil under my machine if that helps any

You may want to remove and visually check the timer contacts. Oil under the washer could be a sign of a bad transmission.
