First, I must express how extremely frustrated I am with Maytag. My refigerator, which I spent over a thousand dollars on, is 20 months old. through absolutely no fault of my own, the icemaker has stopped working. I have since learned that this is a common defualt in this, and other french door, refrigerators with the freezer on the bottom.
The instruction manual says absolutely nothing about how to remove the icemaker from the refrigerator. I called Maytag and they refuse to send me any product literature that would tell me how to do this!! How patently ABSURD is that?? Is this an industry standard? It’s a racket if you ask me–they essentially keep the purchaser in the dark, forcing s/he to hire a service company to complete what I am assuming a half-way handy individual could tackle on their own.
OK, venting over. Can someone explain to me how I remove this icemaker? It is in the top left corner of the refrigerator, there are no visibel screws anywhere, only a plastic tab in the bottom left corner of the icemaker.
Thank you
