I have a 48" Jen Air gas cooktop with the BBQ and the 4 gas burners and the downdraft.
The downdraft is basically useless because it is really not powerful enough to remove all the smoke from the BBQ and also reduces the flame size of the nearby burners when you are using the fan.
Finally after a few years of this I decided to install an above 1200CFM fan which has solved ALL MY PROBLEMS!!! It is FANTASTIC!
Unfortunately when I use the BBQ it still turns on the downdraft Fan. If I unplug the electrical connection from the fan it turns off the fan…Yay!!! BUT…it also turns off the igniters! BOO!!!
Is there an easy way to just disable the FAN only without a lot of modifications? Has anyone done this before?
