Need detai;ed instructions on replacing pump on Amana washer. Pump is leaking.
I assume you have already taken off the front, which is how you diagnosed the leak at the pump. If not, loosen the screws at the bottom and insert a screw driver or putty knife in the gap between the top and front near the edges to release the clips that hold it on.
To change the pump you will have to take out the motor. Note how the belt goes and roll it off the transmission pulley. Take out the screws that hold the motor and the motor/pump will come out. You can now change the pump.
Note: If the pump has been leaking for a while it may have rusted itself to the shaft on the motor. This may make it difficult to get off, but it will come off.
