The ice dispenser on my freezer will not dispense ice. If I press the button, the light turns on, but no ice comes out. The water dispenser works fine and the unit still makes ice, I just can’t get the dispenser to work.
I removed the ice container, depressed the door switch and then pressed the button on the ice dispenser - the little plastic square thing pops up, the motor makes noise, but the gear to turn the auger does not move. There is a bit of ice on the gear, however I am able to turn it manually.
Any ideas on what the problem is and how to fix it?
