Ice maker will make first batch of cubes clear when the water tank is completly full. Every cycle after that produces smaller cloudy cubes. You can also hear the pump sucking water because the water tank is now not completly filled. The water pump was replaced some time ago. Could this be the water valve has gone bad and needs replacing. I have already used the cleaner on the ice maker and that has had no affect on the ice cube production. I can also rule out hard water as we have a water softener installed and that has been checked and is working properly.
I would like to add that It could be one of 2 parts that I’m narrowing in on. Either the "complete water valve" or the Circulation pump & motor assembly". The part that seems to be malfunctioning is the one that does not fill the water tank properly after the first batch of ice is made. After that the tank does not fill enough for the circulation pump to have a good supply of water to make ice cubes. At this point the pump sucks air and water which in turn produces cloudy thin ice.
