Ice maker water leak

Hello,
When the water fills into the ice maker, some of the water overflows the edges of the fill chute at the point where it joins with the inlet pipe. I have watched the water flow in. It has a bit of a swirl to it, like there’s turbulence. The water has formed ice behind the panel. I also noticed a slight amount of ice build up right at the point where the chutt meets the inlet pipe. The ice extends just slightly into the inlet pipe. The ice has not closed off the pipe or extended further into the pipe. I have cleaned off all ice build up. It worked fine for a while and then started again. I have always change the filter when the light comes on. I checked the water line to the frig. It’s a steel braided line and has no kinks. The water dispenser works fine, other than an extra two to three drops after you take your glass away. My thinking is to disconnect the water lines, flush them, replace the water valve and the filter. However, I do not want to spent time and money doing something not necessary to fix the leak.

Thank you,
Mike

Here are your parts

You may want to check your water supply. If the line has a shut off valve in it, check that it is fully open.

My thoughts are that the valve is not closing properly so it lets a few drops through after it should have closed. These then freeze in the ice maker fill tube and cause the problem you see. Low water pressure can cause this.

The valve (Item 10 in Section 7) does mention a pre-filter but I could not find such a thing when I searched the parts for it. I would check to see if it has one.

Also check the input to the valves, perhaps it has crud in it.
