Ice maker makes ice, but extra water spills into ice basket which then freezes and clumps ice so the dispenser will not allow ice to come out. Is the water supply on too long? Or is there a leak in the water supply line that goes to the ice maker that allows water to fall into the ice storage area? Is this something I can reach myself to fix? Is it reached through the front of the refrigerator or the back?
Some times a piece of ice is in the back, where the water comes into the chute of the icemaker, and then splashes. That is a possibility, or the water valve could be on its way out, and it is letting too much water into the icemaker. Tom http://www.applianceeducator.com
Water is overflowing when water fills ice tray. If the water timer is staying on too long is therean adjustment I can make and where would the adjustment be made, or do I have to buy a new part?
I checked the where the water comes into the chute and there is no ice forming there. Water drips down from ice tray for about 15 seconds after filling has stopped.
