Ice Maker

Ice maker stopped making ice. Replaced the solenoid, which didn’t work, but in the process remedied a low water flow problem by replacing the saddle-type supply valve. Still no ice.

This has the "optical" sensor, and when the door is open, the status LED gives two flashes, a longer pause, two flashes, etc. When I press in the paddle switch on the left side, the LED is on steadily.

The fill tube at the top is not itself frozen, but I can’t tell if there is freezing above it.

Any thoughts?

Hi,

Can you disconnect the water line the goes to the ice maker from the water valve in back of the refrigerator and blow air through it?

I will have to pull the refrigerator out to get access to it, but I can do that. Do I assume that is the test to see if there is freezing somewhere in the line?

Yes, that is the test to see if the line is frozen.

If you can not blow air through it then that is the problem.

Thanks, very much. I won’t be able to try that for a couple of hours, but I will give it a shot and let you know what the result is.

Sounds good, let us know.
