The water/ice dispenser on the freezer door of our GE has stopped working. I thought it might be the interface board and I replaced it. but it did not help.
The lights on the interface board work. If you press water and then press the dispenser flap, the light goes out but no water comes out. Same with both the ice cube and crushed ice buttons. Nothing happens. When you press the black flap, you hear the switch contact being clicked and that is all. The light in the door also does not come on when you push the black flap in. Trying to figure out what to replace next. The solenoid was a rusty mess and will replace no For a while if you very carefully pushed in the black flap you would get water, but it was very happenstance and is no longer working.
