I walked into the house and smelled melting plastic at the dishwasher. I saw a nonsense character like a backwards 7 displayed on the LED display and the dishwasher hadn’t even been turned on. I reset the circuit breaker and everything was fine for a couple months.
Last night I walked in and and saw a bit of smoke in the air and smelled plastic again. I looked at the dishwasher but the LED was dark and didn’t appear to have been running (the tub was dry and not warm feeling). I checked the breaker but it wasn’t tripped. I manually reset it to be sure but the dishwasher is totally dead. It does nothing at all. Is there any way to diagnose if the control board assembly or the door lock assembly is bad? I don’t think there’s much else in there. If the pump or motor were bad, wouldn’t the LED probably still display something? I am going to disassemble the door and look for signs of damage but I wanted to get this message posted as soon as I could. THANKS for any tips, tricks, or opinions !
