Oven heated to 400 degrees, beeped indicating it was up to heat, then shortly after, beeped repeatedly, and showed an F5 fault code and oven shut down.
I restarted the oven, and this happened several times before it stayed up to temp., and I was able to use it.
I called Sears, and they are not able to come out for a week.
Question: can I continue to try to use the oven, or should I remain "ovenless" for a week, until Sears can look at it?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
My question is: would you like to diagnose and fix it yourself or you would prefer to pay big $$$ to Sears? And why Sears? Any small local company can do it as well for much better price.
Thanks for the info. We bought the stove from Sears, which is why I went to them, though your suggestion to find a local repair guy is a good one.
I doubt I can fix it myself - not particularly "handy". I did get a suggestion to flip the breaker for 10 min., and the computer may reset itself. I’m trying that. If that doesn’t work, I’ll find someone to look at it.
I appreciate your suggestions, and am glad to hear that it is not dangerous, at least. Thanks
