Hello-
We have a ~10-year old Jenn-Air electric wall oven.
I ran a clean cycle on the oven, which ran for about two hours, at which point the oven started beeping and displayed error code "F5". [According to internet sources, this error can apparently indicate "Hardware and watchdog circuits disagree" or "Power to element relays disabled in cook mode", depending on model.]
After hitting cancel, the error code went away, and the oven remained locked with fan running as it cooled.
When cooling was complete, the door lock disengaged as normal. However, the fan continued running, and has now been running for over a day (with the oven completely cool). I have attempted to reset the oven by disconnecting power at the breaker, but the oven returned to the "fan-on" state after reconnecting power.
This oven displays what temperature (it thinks) it’s at during preheat. When I turn on bake mode, the oven immediately displays "300 F" (even though entirely cool).
It seems to me that the oven thinks it is always at ~300F, even when cool, which explains the display and the constant fan running. I have not yet tested whether the oven will successfully reach a requested bake temperature.
Question is, is this a hardware issue or a "software" issue (i.e., is there a way to reset/recalibrate the temperature)? And if hardware, is it more likely an issue with the oven temperature sensor (which is easy/cheap to replace), or with something more substantial (e.g., the control board or clock assembly)?
Thank you for any advice you can give
