I just replaced the timer on the washing machine. Tried a cycle to test and it started filling and agitating at the same time. Once full, it will agitate for a few seconds and then take a 3 minute break (give or take a few). And then run a few seconds and stop.
Any thoughts on what needs to be fixed?
It may be that the replacement timer is bad, but before returning it disconnect the timer from the wire harness, check to make sure there are no bent or broken pins, clean everything with a good contact cleaner and re-seat.
If that doesn’t fix things and another new timer doesn’t solve the problem check the wiring to the water level switch and the switch itself.
