Washer worked like a champ then last week it would agitate when starting wash and also fill with water will in spin cycle. After researching this site and finding another person who had the same issue - he replaced his timer and it worked, so we ordered a timer. We replaced the timer and now we have different issues. While it’s not agitating upon starting or filling with water while in spin cycle now it’s stopping during random cycles and will only start again if we tap the timer knob. We checked the lid switch and it’s in working order, we checked the connection to the timer (many times) and it’s completely secure. What could be the issue? Please help…thanks.
Well it sure sounds like you got a bum timer. If you bought from this site they will replace it, if you did not try to get a replacement from the seller. But first take off the connector and clean them good with a contact cleaner.
sidfink43…that’s kind of what I thought except when we put the old timer back on now it’s doing the same thing as the new timer. We’ll clean connector and see if that helps. Thanks…
This is a mystery. If cleaning the contacts does not help take off the cabinet and the water pump and take off the connector to the motor, clean those contacts and reseat that.
Good luck, hope this helps.
