Kenmore 80 series gas dryer, heat shuts off

Dryer heats up, dryer still runs but heat never comes back on. If I let the dryer sit for about 30 minutes it will fire back up and until it cycles off and then never come back on again. There is continuity through the thermal fuse and thermostat. Could it be the coils or something else. Please help me, getting really frustrated. Thanks in advance…

The dryer coils need replacing. They tend to fail as they heat up. Hereis a link that should help http://appliancehelponline.com/gdryertroublevideo.html

Most likely the problem is a bad gas valve coils.

Gene.

Thanks for the advice. I will try the coils and let you know how it works out.

Changed the coils today and it appears to be working normally. Thanks for the help.

You are welcome. I’m glad you were able to fix it.

I have the same problem as above, at first, no flame, found bad coil with 3 terminals (one side was open) replaced, dryer seemed to work for a few weeks. Now it heats and guessing when it cycles off, it doesn’t heat again unless I trun off for 30 minutes or so. What you think, could it still be the coils?

Yes it likely the coil. I always replace them in pairs even if they ohm out.
