Kenmore ice maker and water dispenser

Hello and thanks in advance for any help. I am having trouble with my kenmore side by side refrigerator. At first the water dispenser quit functioning, when the dispenser on the door is pressed either an ounce or so of water, or none at all is released. Also I am not sure if it happened at the same time and we we’re using old ice or it happened at a different time but the ice maker has quit making ice. When the water dispenser is depressed I hear a humming noise. So far I have tried replacing the filter, defrosting the water tank with a hair dryer, and disconnecting the water line behind the kickplate and asking for water which results in the same a few drops or none at all. I am thinking that maybe the water valve needs replacing? Just wandering if there was anything else I should try before taking that route.

Zach,

The cause of the problem you described is a low water pressure. You have to find out if the problem is somewhere outside of the refrigerator, or the new filter is defective, or it was installed improperly.
