Microwaving 2 bowls of soup today and the microwave just shut off in the middle, no lights, no nothing. The 1-year warranty just expired a few weeks ago, so wondering if its some kind of internal self-destruct mechanism
Really a good microwave, but I don’t know the first thing about repairing one (yet). I have a multimeter and some formal education in electronics but need a pointer to get me started.
Gene, I looked but did not find another fuse. Here is a picture of the microwave with outer shell off, I circled the first fuse that I checked (it is good). Also, just wanted to be clear: I get no power, no lights, no nothing when I plug it in. Thanks for your help!
Ok, I’ll post it later today or tomorrow as soon as I can get a picture of it scanned in.
I noticed there was a diagnostic on the sheet of paper inside the case for a "sensor", I followed the instructions and the test came back negative. There was no continuity between any of the 3 wires that come out of it. Does that mean that’s the culprit?

On the diagram you’ll notice that there is a noise filter
assembly that the power cord is connected to. Check
to make sure you have 120 volts AC going into it
(from the power cord) and that you get the same voltage coming
out at the other end of it where the white and black wires
are connected to it.
If you have voltage on both ends then
check for 120 volts between the the black wire off of the
noise filter and the thermostat on the side of the magnetron.
You should have voltage between the black wire off of the filter
and both sides of the thermostat. Give this a shot and let us
know what you find.
The Insinkerator Badger 1 had a small spoon go in it. The head of the spoon was removed but the handle is jammed inside. The z tool can’t turn the insides at all. Any suggestions ?:o
I took the unit apart and removed the rest of the spoon. The reassemble instruction that says to " hang disposer by aligning 3 mounting tabs w/slide up ramps on mounting ring" does/nt seem to go together as easy as they make it sound. Any suggestions?
